EOHR submits a bill to the parliament replacing the law of exercising political rights

EOHR submitted a bill  for the general elections and the referendum to the parliament on Sunday, 11/4/2010  replacing  the law of exercising  Political Rights No. 37 of 1956, which was amended by Law No. 173 of 2005 in accordance with the principles and covenants of international human rights especially as regards to the right to manage the public affair. EOHR holds a seminar entitled” Towards a free information society “next Wednesday

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights will hold a seminar entitled “Towards a free information society” in the framework of the project of “The Arab Network for defending the right of access to information,” supported by Beyster Institute – University of California, on Wednesday 14/4/2010 at 2:00 PM at EOHR’s office. EOHR calls the Attorney-General for the immediate release of demonstrators

EOHR calls  the Attorney -General for the immediate release of demonstrators who were arrested on Tuesday, 6/4/2010 as they protested peacefully in “Tahrir Square” to express their views freely, in accordance with the Constitution and international standards on the right of peaceful assembly,  freedom of opinion and expression and the right to liberty and security of person. 90 NGOs in 17 governorates joined “The coalition of freeing civil work in Egypt”

90 NGOs in 17 governorates (Cairo, Giza, Qalioubia, Helwan, Alexandria, Daqahlia, Port said, Menofia, Gharbia, Damietta, Bany souif, Al Seuz, Menia, Esmailia, Assuit, Behera)  announced their joining the coalition of freeing civil work in Egypt”, emphasizing the importance of criticizing the bill proposed by the government on NGOs  to replace  the current law No. 84 of 2002, and mobilizing the Egyptian NGOs from all governorates to support a democratic bill for civil work.
