March 19th, 2011 by Editor

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its condemnation of the arrest of lawyer activist “Ragya Omran” from one of the referendum stations in the court of South Cairo during monitoring the referendum on constitutional amendments. EOHR demands that legal protection is provided for her and that she is immediately released.

EOHR has received information stating that during the activist’s monitoring of the referendum, for which she had an official monitoring authorization, she quarreled with a military officer in the polling station after which she has been arrested. Her location of detention has not been disclosed so until now. As such, EOHr demands that her location of detention is immediately disclosed and that she is immediately released.
