Postponement of trials of the police commanders accused of murdering civil protesters in Kirdasa and Imbaba

On September 5, 2011, Giza Criminal Court, New Cairo Court Complex, has postponed lawsuit no. 3410/2011 that includes 13 police commanders from Imbaba and Kirdasa Police Stations to October 5, 2011. The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights calls for the release of the Lebanese blogger Imad Bazzi

Postponement of trials of the police commanders accused of murdering civil protesters

On September 3, 2011, Shobra Al khiema Criminal Court has postponed the judgment of General Farouk Lashin, the former security director of Kalyoubia, lawsuit no. 4453/2011, Shobra Al Khiema, in addition to a number of police commanders in the governorate to October 1, 2011. The court ordered to enable the lawyers to review the evidences and documents in two weeks after the date of the court session. The field lawyers of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) followed up the lawsuit that included also General Gamal Hosni, deputy of the security director in South Kalyoubia, General Ahmed Momtaz, assistant of the security director and General Samir Zaki, assistant of the security director for security affairs. The commanders were accused for murdering 20 persons and injuring 40. The martyrs’ families disliked the court decision and called for immediate penalty decision in order to achieve justice.
