Report 4: Preliminary results on the run for parliamentary elections

The fourth day for receiving candidacy applications for the parliamentary elections was very peaceful. The observers of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) did not observe any violence or thuggish acts in the candidacy stations. In Gharbia Governorate, some political parties submitted their applications for the run to elections including Justice and Development Political Party. The fourth candidacy day also witnessed submitting the applications of Justice and Development Political Party to the list in Alexandria and Kafr Al Sheikh. In Cairo, Freedom and Justice Political Party submitted 8 applications for the independent candidate seats including Esam Mokhtar, Amr. Zaki, Sayed Gad Allah, Mahmoud Abu Al Azaiem, Khaled Hassan, Ashraf Saad and Mostafa Farghaly.

30 candidates submitted their applications in Gharbia Governorate. The candidates included Hosni Al Shora, Mohamed Al Azabawy, Hamdi Radwan, Abu Al Maali Faek, Mahmoud Al Shazly, Abber Al Minshawy, Hassan Al Abbasi, Adel Al Baramawi, Ali Al Fiky, Sobhi Al Nashar, Saad Al Husaini, Mohamed Al Adly, Ala Azab, Nagah Thabet, Abdel Fattah Al Shafi, Ali Amer, Abdel Gawad Shabana, Mohammed Al Sharif, Hanan Samak and Khaled Al Sheikh.

In Assyout, only 6 candidates submitted applications for the independent list including Ahmed Mohamed Abdel Maged, Aiman Abu Dief, Amr Abdel Rehim, from the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Abdel Hafez and Mohamed Galal Amer. The total candidates in the governorate reached 67.

In Kena, 18 candidates submitted their applications for the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 6 candidates applied for Shura Council. Misr Al Huria Political Party submitted applications for 8 candidates, including 6 belong to the dismantled National Democratic Party. Reform and Development Political Party submitted applications for 4 candidates. In Sharkia Governorate, 7 candidates submitted applications for the People’s Assembly and only one applied for Shura Council.

In Alexandria, 33 candidates submitted applications for the independent list of the People’s Assembly including 7 of the dismantled National Democratic Party. Among the candidates there were 3 women. 9 candidates applied for Shura Council.

In South Sinai, only one candidate applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly, his name is Zayed SabbahHamid. The total candidates in the governorate reached 20 for the People’s Assembly and 6 for Shura Council.
