Report 5: Preliminary results on the run for parliamentary elections

The sixth day for receiving candidacy applications for the parliamentary elections witnessed the declaration of the Egyptian bloc that includes 18 political parties, coalitions and movements. The blook will go on the run to parliamentary elections throughout candidacy for 80% of the independent candidate list and 100% of the political parties’ list. The observers of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) observed and documented application of many candidates under the umbrella of the Egyptian bloc, including Dr. Emad Gad in Sohag, said Kamel in Sharkia in addition to Wael Nawara, Mohammed Mansour, Ahmed Ziad Baha Al Din, Abdel Rashed Hilal, the constitutional expert, Mohammed Nor Farahat, Tarek yasen, Basel Adel, Ahmed Said, Mohammed Hamed, Basem Kamel, Ziad Al Alimi and Mohamed Goma.

In Cairo, 5 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly including Yaser Bayoumi, Mohamed Al Magouli, Khaled Al Sawah Azab Hindi, Sameh Mohamed Farouk, Ahmed Mohamed Abdollah and Khaled Hanafi.

In Alexandria, 9 candidates submitted applications for the independent list of the people’s Assembly including Abdel Sayed Gheniwa, former member of the dismantled National Democratic Party.

In Gharbia, the number of candidates came to 129 for the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 8 candidates for Shura Council.

In Bani Suef, 8 candidates applied to move from the independent list to the political parties’ list, such as Salwa Hota that moved to Freedom and Justice Political Party.

In Sharkia, 7 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly. In Marsa Matrouh 4 candidates applied to the independent list of the People’s Assembly to take the total number of the governorate to 28. 10 candidates applied to Shura Council to take the total number of candidates in the governorate to 12, most of them are former members of the dismantled National Democratic Party. In Kena 5 candidates applied to the independent list of the People’s Assembly and two candidates applied to Shura Council. In Suez, two candidates applied to the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 4 applied for Shura Council. The Egyptian National Political Party submitted a list includes a number of former members of the dismantled National Democratic Party.
