Report 8: Preliminary results on the run for parliamentary elections

The ninth day for receiving candidacy applications for the parliamentary elections witnessed application of Freedom and Justice Political Party in all the Egyptian governorates. In Sharkia, only 2 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly, former members of the dismantled National Democratic Party, General Mashihour Al tahawi and Dr. Ali Meselhi, former Minister of Social Solidarity.

In Aswan, 19 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 4 applied for the Shura Council.

In Gharbia, The Democratic Coalition for Egypt submitted applications for all the constituencies of the governorate. In Bani Suef, many candidates from Freedom and Justice Political Party applied to the independent lists of the People’s Assembly.

In Assyout, 12 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly to take the total number of candidates in the governorate to 128 and 10 applied for the Shura Council until now.

In the New Valley, Freedom and Justice Political Party submitted two lists for the People’s Assembly and Shura Council, in addition to two independent lists. In Marsa Matrouh, only Fouad Salem and Karim Kamel, former members of the National Democratic Party, applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly. In South Sinai 2 applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 5 applied for the Shura Council to take the total number of candidates to 27 for the People’s Assembly and 14 for Shura Council.

In Suez, 14 candidates applied for the political parties’ list of the People’s Assembly and 3 candidates applied for Shura Council. Freedom and Justice Political Party submitted two lists for the People’s Assembly and Shura Council.

In Kena, 14 candidates applied to the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 4 applied for Shura Council. Freedom and Justice Political Party applied submitted a list including Mahmoud Youssef, Warda Kamel, Mohammed Khodary, Mohamed Atia, Abdel Naser Toghian, Younis Saber Hassan, Ibrahim Abdel Maged, Mohammed Abdel Moniem Abdel Shafi and Mahmoud Ahmed Mohamed.

In Alexandria, 35 candidates submitted applications for the independent list of the people’s Assembly and 19 submitted applications for Shura Council, in addition to 5 political parties’ lists for Ghad Mosa, Reform and Development, Freedom and Justice, Reform and Renaissance Political Parties.

In Dakhlia, Freedom and Justice Political Party submitted a list for Shura Council in Mansora includingMohamed Khashaba, Hussein Al saba, Azhar Abdel Rahman and Khaled Torki. The party also submitted a list for the People’s Assembly, mansora Police Station, including Tarek Al Dosoky, Seham Al Gamal, Adel Rashed, Ibrahim Farag, General Fakhry Bakry, Ahmed Shahin, Ahmed Khidr and Ragab habala.
