Report 11: Preliminary results on the run for parliamentary elections

The last day for receiving candidacy applications for the parliamentary elections witnessed application of many Political Parties. According to the statements issued by the Egyptian High Commission for Elections, 5693 independent candidates applied for the forthcoming People’s Assembly elections in addition to 302 lists submitted by the political parties.  For Shura Council, 1490 candidates submitted independent applications and 127 political parties’ lists were submitted also.

In Alexandria, the Conservative Political Party submitted two lists; Al Gabha Political Party submitted three lists for the People’s Assembly. 7 candidates applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly and 10 candidates applied for Shura Council.

In Sharkia, Mmaher Abu Al Lail, Abouda Al Sayed Eid, Adel Mosa Mohamed, Sambo Al Sayed Al Shahat, Al Sayed Hussein Abdel All, Mostafa Shawki, Hani Ramzi Hassanien, Ahmed Mohsin Ali and Ali Mohamed Ali Eid applied for the independent list of the People’s Assembly.

In Damietta, Al Wafd Political Party submitted a list to Shura Council. Democratic Peace, Al Nour and Justice Political parties submitted a list to the People’s Assembly and another to Shura Council each.

In Bani Suef, Justice Political Party submitted a list including 8 candidates. Al Wast Political party submitted a list to Shura Council including 4 candidates. Conservative Political Party also submitted a list to Shura Council including 4 candidates. Al Tagamoa Political Party submitted a list to the People’s Assembly including 8 candidates in addition to a list to Shura Council including Medhat Ahmed Foad, Ashraf Hassan, Sameh Abdollah Abdel Rahman and Hassan Mohammed Abdel Fattah. Freedom Political Party submitted a list for the People’s Assembly included Ashraf Abdel Khaleq and Hani Al Gazzar.

In Marsa Matrouh, 11 political parties submitted lists to the people’s Assembly including Freedom and Justice, Al Ghad, Al Wafd, Al Nor, Reform and Development, Justice, Al Wasat and Al Etihad Al Arabi.

In Assyout, the list submitted by Reform and Development Political Party to the Shura Council was rejected for having no women in it.

In New Valley, Freedom and Justice Political Party submitted a list for Shura Council includes Mohamed Ali Khalifa Mohamed, Insaf Abdollah Ali, Medhat Hussein Mohammed Sultan and Mohammed Atia. Arab Naseri Political Party submitted a list included Ali Abdel Moati, Bardes Seif Al Nasr Omran, Badr Ibrahim Safina and Sabah Youssef Khater.

In Kena, 65 application for the independent list of the people’s Assembly in addition to 4 political parties lists submitted by Al Thawra, Social Peace, Egyptian Citizens and the Revolutionary Guards political parties.
