Poor electoral participation on the second day

Preliminary report on the observation mission of the Egyptian Coalition for Electoral Observation

On December 22, 2011, the marathon of the Egyptian People’s Assembly elections in the second phase, second round was resumed in Giza, Menoufia, Sharkia, Ismailia, Bani Suef, Suez, Behaira, Sohag and Aswan Governorates. On December 21, 2011, the marathon of the Egyptian People’s Assembly elections in the second phase, second round continued in Giza, Menoufia, Sharkia, Ismailia, Bani Suef, Suez, Behaira, Sohag and Aswan Governorates. Preliminary report on the observation mission of the Egyptian Coalition for Electoral Observation

On December 21, 2011, the marathon of the Egyptian People’s Assembly elections in the second phase, second round in Giza, Menoufia, Sharkia, Ismailia, Bani Suef, Suez, Behaira, Sohag and Aswan Governorates. The second round includes 188 independent candidates competing for 59 seats, among them are 49 candidates for Freedom and Justice Political Party, 36 for Al Nor, 11 for the dismantled National Democratic Party and 3 for the Egyptian Bloc. EOHR issues the fifth report on the media coverage of the current political affairs and elections

On December 20, 2011, the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) issues the third report on the media coverage on the current political affairs and elections during November 2011. The report includes quantitative and qualitative analysis of a sample of media channels including Al Ahram, Al Akhbar, Al Masry Al Youm, Al Shorouk and Al Wafd newspapers in addition to Al Youm Al Sabea, Masrawy, Al Badel and Al Ahram Gate websites. Preliminary report on the observation mission of the Egyptian Coalition for Electoral Observation

On December 15, 2011, the Egyptian People’s Assembly election process in the second phase continued with electoral fraud in the polling stations no. 996 and 997 in Al Saf School for Girls in Giza. The coalition observers documented declarations made by female voters saying that the ballots were checked for the independent candidate Naser Maher and the list of Freedom and Justice Political Party. EOHR calls for stopping violence against civil protesters

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses worry for the oppression against the protesters in Kasr El Aini Street and the cabinet area. The protests started on December 16 and continued until this moment. 10 people died and 505 were injured. The crises began when one of the military police officers insulted one of the Ultras and the protesters in the area answered back. Preliminary report on the observation mission of the Egyptian Coalition for Electoral Observation

On December 15, 2011, the Egyptian People’s Assembly elections in the second phase in Giza, Menoufia, Sharkia, Ismailia, Bani Suef, Suez, Behaira, Sohag and Aswan Governorates. The second phase includes 2241 independent candidates competing for 60 seats and 1429 candidates for the political parties’ lists. 10922 judges are supervising the Egyptian electoral process.
