On February 26, 2012, North Cairo Criminal Court postponed the foreign fund lawsuit session to April 26, lawsuit no. 1110, year 2012, Kasr Al Nile. The lawsuit includes 43 political and human rights activists, among them are 19 Americans, 2 Germans and 16 Egyptians. Meant message for the presidential candidates

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) denounces attacking Dr. Abdel Moniem Aboul Fotouh on the Ring Road in Shubra, Cairo, on February 23, 2012. Three masked thugs with machineguns attacked him while returning from a campaigning tour in Menoufia. The thugs hit Aboul Fotouh on his head and beat his driver too. Golden bribes during the second round

On February 22, 2012, the polling stations opened for the second round, second phase, of Shura Council, in 13 governorates including Giza, Aswan, Luxor, Suez, Behaira, Minia, Sohag, Bani Suef, Ismailia, Port Said, Kafr El Sheikh, Kalyoubia and Sharkia. EOHR denounces referring Ziyad Al Alimi to the Parliamentary Questioning Office

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) denounces referring the parliamentary member Ziyad Al Alimi, belongs to Misr Democratic and Social Political party, to questioning for insulting the ruling Field Marshal and Sheikh Mohammed Hassan during a conference on the situation in Port Said after the violence, although Ziyad Al Alimi has apologized to both. The parliamentary member said “I do not feel ashamed when I confess making mistakes in front of my colleagues; apology does not make me embarrass me”. EOHR calls for providing the human rights safeguards within the century’s most famous trial

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses worry for the controversy on transfer of the former president Mubarak to Mazrat Tora Prison, where medical safeguards are absent. So, EOHR calls the Supreme Council for Armed Forces and the Prosecutor General to provide the former president with the human rights safeguards according to the international standards, including healthcare and medication.  EOHR calls for providing health care and medication for all the prisoners countrywide. Alexandria Criminal Court postponed the trial of Sayed Belal

Alexandria Criminal Court postponed the trial of Sayed Belal to march 17, 2012 for receving the witnesses’ statements. The lawyers of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) followed up the court session on February 19, 2012, in attendance of the accused person Mohamed Abdel Rahman Shemi Soliman, known as Ala Zidan, but the other four accused persons were absent. The other accused persons are Hussam Ibrahim Mohamed Reda Al Shinnawy, Ossama Mahmoud Abdel Moniem Al Koniesy, Ahmed Mostafa Kamel, known as Adham Al badry and Mahmoud Abdel Aliem Mahmoud Ali.
