Supporters of Freedom and Justice and Al Nor clashed in Minia

The second phase of Shura Council Elections started on February 14, 2012 in 14 governorates including Giza, Aswan, Luxor, Suez, Behaira, matrouh, Minia, Sohag, Bani Suef, Ismailia, Port Said, Kafr El Sheikh, Kalyoubia and Sharkia. The military court postponed the trial of Al Gazzar

Will Hisba Lawsuits arise after the Egyptian revolution?

The Egyptian organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses worry for having many lawsuits against many public characters accusing them of contempt of religions, which represents a restriction for the freedom of expression. Although, the Egyptian criminal court was amended and article no. 3 provides that a complaint has to be submitted by the victim or his lawyer to the prosecutor general office, orally or written. EOHR denounces Port Said violence

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) denounces the violence that took place following the football match in Port Said Stade of Al Ahly and Al Masry Sporting Clubs. 74 fans died and 200 were injured. What happened was a complete crime against Al Ahly Ultras that participated in the Egyptian revolution and supported the protesters during hard times including the “camel Combat”. There were not enough security troops or inspection procedures during the entrance to the Stade. Only a small gate was allocated for exit of Al Ahly Ultras. EOHR calls for retrial of Taba bombing defendants

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) calls the Supreme Council for Armed Forces to issue a decision for retrial of the accused persons in Taba bombings, which took place in Sinai in October 2004. 34 people died and 157 were injured in the incident. Read the rest of this entry »
