EOHR submitted a constitutional proposal to the parliament

On March 8, 2012, the Egyptian Organization for Human Right (EOHR) submitted a constitutional proposal to the parliament; in which EOHR suggested the contribution of all the Egyptian political powers, social groups and categories in the constitution drafting process. EOHR proposed including representatives of the Egyptian marginalized categories as members of the National Constitutional Assembly, such as women, Copts, Nubians, Sinai Bedouins and handicapped people etc. EOHR called for geographical representation balance; all the Egyptian governorates should have representing members in the intended assembly. EOHR calls for ideal standards for forming the National Constitutional Assembly

On March 5, 2012, the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) filed the lawsuit no. 26954, year 2011, registered under no. 66 before the administrative court. EOHR called the Supreme Council for Armed Forces to cancel its decision on the selection of the National Constitutional Assembly’s members from among the elected parliamentary members.
