EOHR denounces kidnapping the journalist Mahmoud Othman

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its deep distress concerning kidnapping the journalist Mahmoud Othman of Al Youm Al Saba Newspaper during his coverage of the protest of Al-Manasa in Nasr City. EOHR asks Morsi to stop the execution of military verdicts against protesters in Suez

On the 9th of July 2012, the military court decided to imprison the political activist Mohamed Gharib for three years. It has also decided to imprison Osama Mohamed, Mohamed Motawea’, Ahmed Hamdi, Khaled Salem, Khaled Hamza, Mohamed Sami and Mohamoud Saaid for six months. EOHR denounces the arrest of the Egyptian journalist Shaimaa Adel

EOHR expresses its utter refusal for the continuation of the arrest of Egyptian journalist Shaimaa Adel. Shaimaa was arrested by the Sudanese authorities whilst covering recent events in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.  Her arrest took place alongside tenacious efforts from the Sudanese authorities to obscure the picture of what is currently taking place. Human Rights Committee violates freedom of thought and religion

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights expresses its severe distress regarding the decline in human rights presented in the drafting of the new constitution of Egypt. Initial indicators point to large decline in the freedom of thought and religion. Setback to the Egyptian revolution
