EOHR calls for a prompt release of Haitham Mohammadein

EOHR expresses  its deep concern over the arrest of Haitham Mohammadein, a civil activist in Suez, and demands  his prompt release from the Attorney General. Haitham Mohammadein was arrested  on Thursday evening, September 5, 2013 during the curfew period in Suez. He was charged with possession of some publications, and he was submitted before the public prosecutor on Friday, September 6, 2013, with a file No. 1795/ for year 2013 ,Ataqa. The prosecution ordered his submission before it again on Saturday, after he was charged with belonging to a secret order; thus the prosecutor has decided to continue his detention. In this regard, EOHR demands the Attorney General to release Haitham Mohammadein immediately.
