Observatory for Violence warns about the continuation of the wave of violence in the country.

The observatory for violence formed by the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights has continued monitoring violent incidents that have took place in the country recently. EOHR warns that these violent incidents pose a serious threat against the Egyptian National Security and open the door in front of internal collision that may lead to civil war; hence the Organization demands the government to strictly deal with whoever is persuaded to undermine the Egyptian State and divide it into sects and groups. Civil society organizations’ meeting at the Ministry of Social Solidarity. Consensus over the new law of associations.

Civil Society representatives and experts have agreed upon the draft law of associations prepared by the high committee formed by the Ministry of Social Solidarity on the light of a workshop prepared by The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights and the Ministry of Social Solidarity yesterday, October 9, 2013. They have stressed on the importance of providing guarantees for the freedom of the civil work in Egypt like the easy establishment of associations, legislative authority should be responsible of the arbitration of conflicts and problems, and to avoid assigning punishments that hinders freedom. Civil Society Associations discuss the draft law of associations at the Ministry of Social Solidarity

Civil Society Organizations will hold a workshop tomorrow, October 9 to discuss the draft of the new law of associations proposed by a high committee that was formed by the Ministry of Social Solidarity. EOHR demands the formation of an independent commission to investigate the violent incidents that took place yesterday.

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights expresses its deep concern regarding the violence that took place yesterday, 6 October 2013 during the celebrations of the glorious fortieth anniversary of October victory. According to the Ministry of Health, those violent incidents resulted in a death toll of 54 and 271 injuries. EOHR offers condolences to the families of the victims. Read the rest of this entry »

EOHR demands the Egyptian government to devise effective plans to eradicate terrorism

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights expresses its deep concern reagrding the terrorist incidents witnessed by the country in Al-Salehia city  in Al-Sharkia Governorate , Northern Sinai, and Maadi area in Cairo, resulting in deaths amongst civilians and damage to the satellite building.
