The Organization demands the release of the Shura council protestors.

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights expresses its deep concern about the arrest of the protestors in front of El-Shoura Council, the demonstration was calling for the non-appliance of the demonstration law on the peaceful demonstrations, and for this law to be applied only on the violence demonstrations according to the international conventions on Human Rights with regard to the freedom of opinion, expression, and demonstrate. EOHR express its deep concern after the President of the Republic interim Adli Mansour issued a law on demonstrations, despite the reluctance of the political forces on that bill and putting general limits on the law, the government ignored those amendments and issued the law. The Egyptian Organization concludes the fifth workshop on how to eliminate the crime of torture in Egypt.

EOHR concluded the fifth workshop on Wednesday 27th November, 2013, which was planned to improve the skills of the Egyptian universities’ students, activists, and journalist in dealing with the crime of torture, in order to form a network of those interested in the file of torture in Egypt to contribute in the eradication of this phenomenon, which violates the basic human rights of the simple Egyptian citizen. Victims of government neglect: EOHR calls for the prosecution of the responsible for the train crash.
