The Egyptian Organization launches the initiative to release the remand prisoners of non-violence Perpetrators.

The Escalation of violence threatens the Human Rights system in Egypt; the Egyptian Organization condemns the terrorist acts within the Egyptian society.

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights strongly condemns the a recent terrorist attacks in Egypt since Friday Morning, January 24th, 2014, emphasizing that such terrorism acts will affect a range of values in the Human Rights system in Egypt as it represents an assault to the package of rights and freedoms established by the international conventions and agreements, most importantly; the  right to live, liberty, security of person, and the right to call the Egyptian authorities to provide protection of the Egyptian citizens from such actions under the law and the principles of human rights recognized. The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights establishes operation’s room to receive complaints of peaceful demonstrators and to follow the events of the third anniversary of the revolution on 25th January.

In the context of EOHR’s confirmation on the legality of the right to demonstrate and peaceful assembly, it announces the establishment of an operation’s room to provide legal support for the peaceful demonstrators on Saturday January 25th, 2014, through the fieldwork unit in the organization and a number of legal persons available in the different Egyptian governorates to receive any complaint relates to any incident of violence or bloody clashes against the demonstrations, which are expected to be held in Cairo and other governorates. The Egyptian Coalition for Monitoring the Elections announces its report on monitoring the referendum.

The Egyptian Coalition for Monitoring Elections Issued Today Wednesday, January 22th, 2014 its report on monitoring the referendum of the new constitution under the title “No voice above Yes,” which includes some negatives and some positives that have been monitored by the coalition’s observers.  The report came in four sections; the first section reviews the political environment that surrounded the referendum, the second section deals with the legislative environment that preceded the referendum, the third section includes the coalition’s notes on the referendum, and the fourth section states the coalition’s recommendations to the supreme Committee of the Elections and the final evaluation. The continuation in the violence acts as an attempt to curtail the voters.

The closure of some committees for security reasons.

Polarization of the voters.

The voting process continued for the second and last day with an increase in the number of voters in the last hours of the day, and also continued amid a series of violations, which varied between, the increasing acts of violence, bullying, and clashes in different areas, the continues impact on the will of the voters and the electoral campaign, and the closure of some committees in Aosim for security reasons. The voting process continues for the second and last day with a higher turnout than the early morning in various polling stations amid the same violations that have been monitored on the first day, which varied from Muslim Brothers’ attempts to assemble and intimidate voters, influence the will of the voters, electoral propaganda, to mass transfer of voters. Statement (1) The Outcomes of Monitoring the Referendum Process by the Egyptian Coalition for Monitoring Elections (ECME) The Second Day

  • Attempts to direct voters and influence their will
  • Delays in opening some polling stations

Today, Wednesday Jan. 15, 2014, the voting process on the second and last day of the referendum continues where Egyptians went to cast their votes on the new draft constitution throughout the 27 governorates of Egypt, albeit a lower turnout than the first day until the release of this report. ECME observers have monitored a number of violations ranging from delay in opening the doors of the polling stations, attempts to influence the will of the voters, election propaganda, and presence of some violations inside polling stations.
