The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights establishes operation’s room to receive complaints of peaceful demonstrators and to follow the events of the third anniversary of the revolution on 25th January.

In the context of EOHR’s confirmation on the legality of the right to demonstrate and peaceful assembly, it announces the establishment of an operation’s room to provide legal support for the peaceful demonstrators on Saturday January 25th, 2014, through the fieldwork unit in the organization and a number of legal persons available in the different Egyptian governorates to receive any complaint relates to any incident of violence or bloody clashes against the demonstrations, which are expected to be held in Cairo and other governorates.

There have been a series of calls launched across the Muslim Brotherhood and some of the pro forces to demonstrate on Saturday, January 25th 2014 in the third anniversary of the revolution.

In this regard, after the calls for the demonstrations on January 25th, EOHR decided to form a unit for legal support to the peaceful demonstrators, to emphasize the right of the citizens to exercise all their rights concerned forming peaceful assembly stated in the local standards and internationally accepted and recognized internally and binding Egypt, and to counter any attempts to confiscate those rights or restrict their exercise by individuals, groups or any official bodies. But at the same time emphasizes the importance of the exercise of this right away from the violence and bloodshed in order to preserve the country of the consequences of this violence, and it urges the Egyptians to participate in the political dialogue to avoid the problems of dislocation, and to miss any opportunity of those who want to burn this country.
