Counterterrorism observatory: EOHR condemns the attack to the police forces and the army in North Sinai and calls for the quick arrest of the perpetrators

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) strongly condemns the terrorist attack to the valiant Egyptian soldiers in South AlArish which killed an officer and injured other ten on Monday 8 September 2014, and calls for prosecuting the criminals and bringing them to justice.

AlTakfir groups (Excommunication groups) planted a bomb on the way of the police forces armors on “AlArish – Hafan” road in North Sinai, which exploded while the armors were passing by, killing an officer and injuring ten other soldiers.

EOHR offers its sincere condolences to the family of the martyr and stresses that war against terrorism is a battle involving the whole nation.

The Egyptian Organization condemns this criminal incident, asserting the necessity to punish the perpetrators, and the previous terrorist incidents. It also calls upon the Egyptian authorities to quickly arrest those involved in these acts, to refer them to a fair trial and to sentence them as a lesson for those willing to commit these crimes, to protect policemen and the army from the attacks of these groups which systematically commit these crimes.

Hafez Abo Seada, president of the Organization, asserted that the attack to the Egyptian police forces and army violates the fundamental human rights, as the right to life, freedom and personal safety, stressing that Egypt is determined to eradicate terrorism and to eliminate this deviant group that tries to tamper the destiny of this nation.
