The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its concern for the arrest of Dr Mohamed Ali Beshr and calls for releasing him and all those who did not commit violent actions or incite them.
The investigation service of Shabeen Elkom police station together with the Homeland and the Public Security arrested Dr Mohamed Ali Beshr, on charges of incitement to violence and demonstration against the state.
EOHR deplores the call for demonstrations which use violence, threaten the life of Egyptians and create chaos, as the ones staged on the last 28th, which reassert the necessity to face and punish those who clearly incite to violence, while those who embrace dialogue and adopt a peaceful approach shall not be arrested.
On his part, Hafez Abo Seada, EOHR president, asserts that the call for demonstration, when peaceful, is not a crime and Dr Mohamed Ali Beshr is among those who deplores violence. Thus we call for his quick release.
