The Third Report of the Second Day of the Second Stage

 

As of this evening, Monday November 23rd, the first round of the second stage of the elections is now over. During the past two days, as the turnout rate has been mediocre, electoral propaganda and bribes have surfaced, which is a violation of laws pertaining to elections. Monetary bribe has been a tool used by multiple candidates, especially, in the poorer neighborhoods, during these elections. Until just a few hours before the end of the elections, votes were still being bought and sold. In addition to bribes and propaganda, there has also been violence and use of force; all of which are illegal acts in violation of decision No.74 issued by the Higher electoral committee.  Today, Monday November 23rd, is the second day of the Parliamentary Elections of 2015.         The voting process continued as the turnout of voters increased after the one hour long break (2:30 to 3:30 pm). Simultaneously, electoral bribes also increased while police and security forces put forth a strict plan to ensure safety of all civilians. The voting process is ongoing until 9 pm today (Monday 22nd), in 13 governorates: Cairo, El-Qalyoubeya, El-Gharbeya, el-Monoufeya, El-Sharqeya, El-Ismailiya, Domyat, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Port-Said.           The voting continues during the second stage of the parliamentary elections taking place today and tomorrow in the following governorates: Cairo, El-Qalyoubeya, El-Daqahleya, El-Mounoufeya, El-Gharbeya, Kafr el-Sheikh, El-Sharkeyah, Domyat, Port-Said, Ismailiya, North and South Sinai. On Sunday 22/11/2015, the second stage of the parliamentary elections was launched. This stage includes 13 governorates as follows: el-Monoufeya, El-Gharbeya, el-Qalyoubeya, Kafr-el-Sheikh, el-Sharqeya, el-Ismailiya, Port-Said, Domyat, North of Sinai, and Cairo. The Egyptian Organization of Human Rights calls the international community to stand in solidarity against terrorism

 

The Egyptian Organization of Human Rights declares its condemnation of the terrorist attack on Paris on Friday November 13th, 2015. This attack is considered one of the most violent in the history of France as it left hundreds of dead and injured civilians. The bombing started near a Parisian restaurant, causing seism in the international stadium meanwhile a soccer game between the French and German teams where the French president was present. Furthermore, civilians were taken hostage at Bataclan Theatre, a hundred of which died, leading President Hollande to declare a state of emergency. Read the rest of this entry »
