The Egyptian Organization for human rights (EOHR) condemns the terroristic incidents occurred in the French Nice

The Egyptian Organization for human right condemns the terroristic incident experienced by the French citizens’ in the French Nice located south France; killing 84 French citizens and leaving 150 injured among them 18 were seriously and critically injured.

On Thursday 14/7/2016 the French Nice witnessed, during the celebration of the French national day, the death of dozens of people because of being run over by a truck in one of the touristic streets consequently the French police opened the fire on the truck and killed the driver immediately.

Thus, EOHR believes that such terroristic incidents occurred in Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Brussels and lately in France are considered to be a clear violation to the right to life guaranteed under the international covenants on human rights.

Moreover, EOHR confirms that the blind terrorism does not distinguish among its victims as it violates their rights collectively. Therefore, the international community should stand together and intensify its efforts to eradicate terrorism and address the root causes of that dangerous phenomenon to protect the peaceful citizens and their rights to life.

At the same time, EOHR confirms that the fight against terrorism shouldn’t violate the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed by the international conventions on human rights.

On his part, Hafez Abu Seada- President of EOHR- confirms that the growth of terrorism by this way in a huge number of countries will prove the backwardness we reached globally and the eradication of civilization. Consequently, the international community should face such terroristic practices by strengthening the role of the religious Organizations and the civil society organizations across the world to spread the values of tolerance and respecting the difference and the other and the sanctity of human life.
