On the International Day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, EOHR reafirms its inifinite support for the legitimate rights of the palestinian people

The suffering of the palestinian people under Israeli occupation and oppression persists without any signs of hope to alleviate their plight, on the contrary matters seem to be heading for worse. On the International day of solidarity with the Palestinian people EOHR reafirms its boundless support to the right of the palestinian people to self determination, independence and return to their homeland that was stripped away from them forcefully by means of aggression. EOHR comments on the UN special rappoteur’s statement on Egypt’s civil society legistlation

The Egyptian Organization for human rights (EOHR) has read, and thoroughly examined the statement issued by the UN special rappoteur on the rights to freedom of peaceful assembly and association on Egypt’s  recently approved draft law on civil society. We in EOHR advice Egypt’s parliament and government do the same, and take the rappoteurs opinion and assesment into account. EOHR adopts the case of Magdi Mcain, and follows the prosecution’s investigation of the case.

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) voices its deep concern over reports it has recieved that confrim the death of Mr. Magdi Mcain in Al Amiria police station, bearing in mind that the victim’s family are accusing one the officers at the station of torturing him to death. EOHR submits draft legistlation on civil society to Egypt’s parliament

 

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) submitted a draft legistlation on civil society to Dr. Abdel Hadi Al Kasabi chairman of the parliamentary committee on social solidarity. The legistlation was drafted by the supreme committee on civil activism that was established by Dr. Ahmed El Borai (then minister of social solidarity) by ministerial decree 164 on the 30th of July 2013. Mr. Hafez Abu Seada the president of EOHR was the coordinator of this committee that included 18 civil society organizations and unions. Read the rest of this entry »
