EOHR calls upon the Egyptian government to take all necessary measures to assure the coptic christians citizens of Al Arish to their homes

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) voices its serious concerns regarding what appears to be a form of forced displacement of coptic christian families from the city of Al Arish the capital and administrative centre of the restive North Sinai governrate. The christian citizens started feeing their homes recentley after extremist terrorist groups most notably the ISIS affiliate Wilayet Sina’a issued threats against them warning them to leave or die, and in fact more than half a dozen christian individuals were murdered over the past weeks and a house belonging to a christian family was burned by these groups in what appears to be an effort to force christians out of the area Read the rest of this entry »

EOHR urges the minister of interior to retract is ammendment of the prison charter, and to return back to the old charter which was agreed upon between the National Council for Human Rights and the Minsitry of Interior

EOHR urges the minister of interior to retract is ammendment of the prison charter, and to return back to the old charter which was agreed upon between the National Council for Human Rights and the Minsitry of Interior

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its concern regarding the ministry of interior’s decision to ammend the prison charter. These ammendmendts included changes to 4 articles of the charter that cover issues such solitary confinment, the maximum age for children in the prison’s child care facilities, the regulations for the use of force with prisoners, and the regulations of the visits and inspections conducted by the National Council for Human Rights of prisons.
