EOHR welcomes the President’s pardon of 332 young prisoners including activists

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi issued a presidential pardon that ordered the release of 332 young prisoners including dissident political activists like Dostour party members Andrew Saleeb and Islam Fouad Qassem. This comes after multiple pleas and demands voiced the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) to secure the release of all political activists who were detained due to their legitimate exercise of their constitutional rights. EOHR condemns the relocation of the US embassy in Israel to occupied Jerusalem

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) strongly once again condemns President Donald Trump’s decision to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The decision is due to be executed on the 14th of May 2018 which comes one day before what Israel celebrates as Independence Day and Palestinians commemorate with grief as the Nakba (Catastrophe) due to the displacement of over 700,000 Palestinians by the then nascent Israeli state.
