The Military Court of Appeals confirmed on February 4, the imprisonment of the founder of the development center, Khaled Lutfi, for five years on charges of disclosing military secrets as he distributes the Arabic version of the Israeli book “The Angel: Ashraf Marwan”

The Counter-Terrorism Observatory that is affiliated to the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist incident that took place on Monday, February 18, 2019, in Al-Darb Al-Ahmar district of Cairo governorate, which resulted in the death of an officer and two policemen.

The Counter-Terrorism Observatory condemns the terrorist attack in Sinai

The Counter-Terrorism Observatory condemns the terrorist   attack in Sinai


The Counter-Terrorism Observatory expresses its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack that targeted one of the security installations in North Sinai, which resulted in the death of an officer and injuring 14.
The military spokesman of the armed forces said that “terrorist group members (ISIS) have attacked a security installation in northern Sinai, however, the security forces have dealt with those members and engaged with them.”

Sohag criminal court issues a verdict on a case of torturing a Toktok driver to death. EOHR calls for the establishment of a national mechanism to combat torture.

Sohag criminal court issues a verdict on a case of torturing a Toktok driver to death.
EOHR calls for the establishment of a national mechanism to combat torture.


On February 11, 2019, the Sohag Criminal Court sentenced the head of the former Tahta Center for Investigation, the assistant and the head of the Northern Search Branch in Sohag, to three years in prison and charged them with criminal charges. The health inspector was also sentenced to one year in prison, dismissed from his position for two years and charged him with criminal charges in the case of torturing a defendant to death.

   EOHR calls for the abolition of article 98 F of
      the Penal Code regarding the contempt for religions
The Egyptian prosecution decided on Sunday to imprison under pending investigation, four students of Al-Azhar University, on charges of “contempt of the Christian religion” after publishing a video that included mockery of Christian hymns and prayers.
