(EOHR) mourns the death of Colonel Mohamed Fawzy

The Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EOHR) mourns the death of Colonel Mohamed Fawzy – an NSA officer – who killed during armed clashes with terrorist elements in Al Amiriya district in Norther Cairo. The terrorist cell was secretly based at an apartment in Al Amirirya and they plotted to launch attacks against citizens and police personel.

EOHR sends it deep condolences to the family of the martyr and stresses that it will always remember the heros who make sacrifices for the sake of the nation in its war on terrorism which seeks to impose its dogmatic perceptions on Egyptian society through the force of arms.

Eyewitnesses said that the clashes between terrorist elements and the police went on for 4 hours and that a police van urged residents via loudspeakers to stay away from windows and balconies to avoid harm.

The clashes left one NSA officer dead, 3 other security personnel wounded and 7 dead terrorists. Caches of weapons, ammunitions and explosives were found with the dead terrorists after the clashes came to an end.
